Company Background

Emerald Services, a division of Greene & Associates, is a third-generation family-owned and operated company. Charles E. "Chip" Greene, President, comes from a long family history in the trade. His grandfather was a union plumber and steamfitter who supervised some of the largest projects in the area at the time. He later represented the local union as its business agent. Chip’s father started in the trade in the 1930s working in the boiler room of a Navy destroyer during World War II. In 1948, Lee started his own business which became one of the premier plumbing and heating contractors in the state. Lee also served as President of the Georgia Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Association in the mid 1950s. In the 1960s, when air conditioning became the norm in commercial facilities, he expanded the company into the mechanical contracting field. Chip gained experience in the industry working for his father's business. Although Chip's father sold the business before Chip graduated from college, he still wanted to follow in the family footsteps and founded Greene & Associates.
